To allow us to spend a little longer free camping we found we needed to supplement the 120w solar panel mounted on the caravan roof.
Portable solar panels.
We have a set of solar panels mounted on the roof of our caravan…they work well and ensure the battery maintains its charge, providing the van in in the sun. The problem with this is that we will generally try and park the ‘van in the shade!…the way around this situation is to have a portable set of collapsable panels that we move into the sun and leave the caravan in the shade. Our power requirements are not great, we have the portable fridge/freezer, the water pump for the shower and the internal LED lighting. We also have a 12vdc TV. The fridge, hot water system and cooking requirements are all via LPG. Click a photo below to learn more.
